About Us
History:
Hilal Schools is situated at Dargah Mohalla on Old Madras Road. The formation of this institution follows an event in the life of Mr. Shamsulla.
Mr. Shamsulla who was an employee of the DRDO, upon the conclusion of the primary education of his Children found out to his surprise that his children had to travel a distance to pursue their education further. To Address this issue instead of making his child travel a distance he decided to set up a school with the help of like-minded people. Hence was formed the Bangalore South Welfare Trust on 12-12-1984 with Mr. Shamsulla as its first secretary. Thus began this Journey. The Trust was then re-formed later with Mr. Daniyal A Kazi as its Chairman.
Present:
Presently the Schools is running in two premises, one for the lower primary, higher primary and middle school run, and a Newly Constructed building with Modern facilities where the classes for the High School are conducted. All in all around 650 students mostly belonging to the backward and Most backward strata of society study in the school. One thing to note is that most of the students here are first generation students of their families.
Pre-University College:
Fore-seeing the need that after High School there is no college in the near distance for students, the Trust has started a Pre-University College in its Newly Constructed facilities where there are facilities like state of art Computer lab along with a well-stocked Library and study materials and other facilities like Lady Teaching staff for girl students etc.
Future:
As of now the Pre-University College has limited options and the Trust wants to expand the options in a phased manner and the planning and work for the same is in process.
As the trust is a purely non-profit organization it relies on individual / collective contributions to take its work further.
